When I stumbled across Stick Sweets Factory the first thing that I thought was that it reminded me of a cafe from Australia. Not the sophisticated and modern cafes in Sydney or Melbourne though but the ones found more in the suburbs next to a K-Mart or Target where people relax after doing the week’s grocery shopping.
This isn’t necessarily a bad thing however as I found it had a warmth that more central cafes can sometimes miss and kind of appreciated it’s simplicity. The quality of the drinks won’t win the place any awards but they’re also a lot cheaper than the usual price (only a few hundred yen) and the “stick sweets” (basically elongated tarts) from which the cafe gets it’s name definitely impress with the sheer number to choose from.
All up I got a mango tart and a macha latte for around 700 yen and enjoyed both. Be warned though that there isn’t anything in the way of real food on the menu so if you’re hungry I suggest doing what I did and pick up something from the adjacent supermarket before you get your seat.
Stick Sweets Factory isn’t the most memorable cafe in Yokohama but its no smoking atmosphere and number of tables make it a good alternative to the other cafes in the area.

How to Get to Stick Sweets Factory in Totsuka
Stick Sweets Factory is in a shopping centre just next to the main Totsuka Station building called, Sakurasu Totsuka (written as “サクラス戸塚” in Japanese on several signs). To get to this building, take Exit 6 from the station and walk across the overpass to the Totsukana Mall building. Keep walking on it and you should see a major bus bay underneath you. Once you get to the intersection of the Chogo Highway and a road called Tokai-do, head on down to street level and cross it to the Sakurasu Totsuka building. Stick Sweets Factory is on the ground floor. The walk from the station should take no longer than five minutes.
