When I first visited the 347 Cafe the most obvious feature that impressed me was the fact that it had outdoor seating, something very hard to come by in Tokyo, let alone Japan. The fact that you can sit outside and drink a cup of coffee in the middle of Shibuya is the biggest thing this cafe has going for it and the added trees and trendy feature swimming pool (just for looks, sorry!) definitely add to the coolness.
The staff is friendly and the menus are in English as well as Japanese and there’s quite a lot of options when it comes to wines and other beverages. While the place looks impressive the food quality is very average and while it’s not bad by any means (we really enjoyed the cakes and pies) overall it seems a few steps behind the overall quality they’re trying to create.
While tea is served in pots, if you have a look inside you’ll see that there’s no actual leaves inside and that the tea’s just been poured in from somewhere else. Again this doesn’t make it bad, just not as good as one would expect from looking at the place’s overall appearance.
Also of note is the bar upstairs that opens up in the evening which also has it’s own outdoor area, making it a cool place to start your night and meet friends before heading to one of Shibuya’s many clubs.
Overall the whole place looks fantastic and the 100% no smoking in the indoor seating area is awesome. Whether you should check it out really depends on what you’re feeling like though. If you’re in the mood for a cool atmosphere over five star food and drinks you won’t be disappointed.

How to Get to 347 Cafe
From the main JR Shibuya Station, head out of the East Exit and turn left. You should see a big intersection. Cross to the other side of the road opposite the station and then cross again. You should be on Meiji Dori. Walk along this road, passing 2 streets on your right. The third street you get to should be an intersection with a park to your front-left and a building called Cocoti in front of you with a store called Tomorrowland on the ground floor. Cross the road to this building. 347 Cafe is on the third floor. Take special care to get the correct escalator as one completely bypasses the third floor.
