Nozy Coffee is a lovely authentic little coffee shop located in the popular Sangenjaya area of Tokyo which lies just one station (on the express train) from Shibuya on the Denentoshin Line. The area is full of interesting shops and restaurants and has a rather surprising amount of smoke free cafes (such as the nearby Hawaiian themed Olu Olu Cafe) and restaurants making it a great place to go, especially if you want to try out one of Tokyo’s other neighbourhoods that are just as popular as Shibuya and Shinjuku with the locals but are thankfully much less of a tourist trap.
This sunny smoke free coffee shop is really very nice. It has a very fresh, modern wooden design with a big focus on not just the serving of coffee but the roasting, grinding and selling of the coffee beans, all of which you can see being processed in a special room with a glass wall next to the downstairs main desk.
The coffee is some of the best quality I’ve had in Tokyo and very well priced with a latte setting me back about 500 yen.
With such a strong focus on the coffee however, they don’t serve any food at all, encouraging customers to enjoy the coffee for what it is (that being very good coffee!) at the upstairs seating which offers some great people watching opportunities. You can get your coffee to go and there is a rather big park nearby which is recommended if the weather’s nice and you feel like relaxing outdoors.
If you’re in the mood for some food, Nozy Coffee obviously isn’t the place for you but if all you want is a good coffee or even some quality coffee beans to take home or buy for a friend I highly recommend checking it out.

Directions: Nozy Coffee is about a 10 minute walk from Sangenjaya Station. Head out of the South-East Exit (南東口) and walk up the stairs to the street level.
There is a major road called Tamagawa Dori. Once you’re on street level turn right and walk along this major road. You should walk past a Mos Burger restaurant on your right hand side within a minute of walking if you’re going in the correct direction.
After Mos Burger you should pass a small street also on you’re right and after that a Family Mart convenience store. You’ll then walk past another small street on your right before getting to a major intersection. Turn right at this intersection and walk down this road past two schools on either side of the road.
Nozy Coffee can be seen down the third small street on your right.
